Effect of cold water while on period?

What happens when you drink cold water while on your period? U asked a few of my friends and one of them said that your period will get heavier while another said that you will experience cramps. I know its not scientifically proven that cold water/drinks does anything to your period, but please tell me your experiences. Thanks :)
