Is it ok to use my previous prescription glasses when I've just broke my recent one?

Okay, I didn't really break my glasses, but my dad got those for me and the frames are really awkward looking. Like, many of my friends already commented on it saying that I get contacts. And I know they're indirectly suggesting me to get new frames or whatsoever. So today, I've started wearing my previous spectacles of 2 years. (I wore the new one for about 5 months). I don't get any headaches or whatsoever from wearing it, and I have no intention of wearing my new glasses because they look funny on me. However, I'll be wearing them until I get contacts, which will be soon. But in the mean time, is it alright for me to wear my old glasses of 2 years? There is some difference in power of both of my glasses though,,
