Why do Americans have to buy health insurance?

Because most of us can take responisbility for ourslves, unfortunately, some of us, like you, also would like to freeload off of others. (oh, and BTW, the US healthcare QUALITY is unparalleled in the world, the system has issues, but you can't argue against the quality.)
